Cork’s L.G.B.T. Choir “Choral Confusion”

This is Cork’s Third Annual Carol service in Cork’s iconic landmark, St. Ann’s Shandon whose famous Steeple dominates the city. The Rector, Rev. Brian O’Rourke who has a passionate belief in inclusivity has been host to a service for Cork Pride Week since 2009. Shandon probably has the unique distinction, perhaps, of being the only church in Ireland which flies the Rainbow Flag during the local Pride Festival.

Owing to the success of The Pride Festival Event, the parishioners of Shandon offered to hold a Carol Service for the LGBT Community and their friends. The first year we were stunned by the lengths they went to decorate and light the church to create a special Christmas Atmosphere for the Service.

This year’s service promises to be the best yet and will feature Cork’s LGBT Choir “Choral Confusion” who have been practicing a set of Carols provided by Rev. O’Rourke for the last two months. There will also be solo singers and musicians present as well as the church organist. There will be plenty of opportunity for the congregation to sing along with their favourite Carols. There will be a “Mulled Wine” Reception after the Service. Do come and support this exceptional event organized by the local Church of Ireland Community for Cork’s LGBT Community.

The Service begins at 7.30. (Sharp) on Thursday 22nd December
